The mechanism of electromagnetic clutch is that when the dc power is passed on to the clutch coil, the rotor draws the armature assembly and thus transferring torque from drive linked to input shaft through the clutch to load, linked through the output shaft. When the power is switched off from the clutch, the drive gets disconnected.
